Schiermonnikoog (The smallest Dutch island) is part of World Heritage Site called ‘De Wadden’.
Living on this island brings you in close contact with nature. The effects of what we, human beings, cause is very visible at this place. The damage we caused already so far is, in some cases, irreversible. Possibly within this century we will no longer be able to see this tidal area, including his unique ecological-system due to the rapid rising of the North Sea. Scientists expect that global warming will lead to a rising of our sea-level between 1 or 2 meters already within this century. In short, we will be flooded!
Be part of the improvement!
Often governments tell us what we should not do, what is bad etc. But what often remains unclear is why. It sounds like a distant and complicated problem.
We find it very importent to create awareness and alarm people that small individual changes will lead to an improvement and will create a better balans between humans and nature (natural sources).

Prachtige film over vriendschap met een octopus
Natural history filmmaker Craig Foster was burnt out and depressed when he decided to put his career on hold. He took up daily diving at home in Cape Town, South Africa, and it was in the ocean that he struck up an unusual friendship with a wild octopus. Filmed over an eight-year period, “My Octopus Teacher” documents this unique bond and the valuable lessons it taught about balance and connection to the natural world. The film won a best documentary BAFTA and an Oscar.

The Biggest Little Farm follows two dreamers and their beloved dog when they make a choice that takes them out of their tiny L.A. apartment and into the countryside to build one of the most diverse farms of its kind in complete coexistence with nature.
The film chronicles their near decade-long attempt to create the utopia they seek, planting 10,000 orchard trees, hundreds of crops, and bringing in animals of every kind– including an unforgettable pig named Emma and her best friend, Greasy the rooster. When the farm’s ecosystem finally begins to reawaken, their plan to create perfect harmony takes a series of wild turns, and to survive they realize they’ll have to reach a far greater understanding of the intricacies and wisdom of nature, and of life itself.
